Lucknow: In a significant breakthrough under the ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, the Sahadatganj police of Lucknow have arrested a ganja smuggler and recovered 1.150 kilograms of illegal ganja from his possession.
According to information received, the accused has been identified as Chhotu, son of late Ram Chandra, a resident of Jhabbaran Sultanpur Garhiya under Sahadatganj police station limits. The accused, aged around 28 years, was allegedly involved in illegal ganja trafficking in the area for the past several days.

Acting on specific inputs, the police launched an intensive checking drive. During the operation, Ghanta Beg Garhiya outpost in-charge Jitendra Kumar Verma, along with Sub-Inspector Pushpendra Maurya, Constable Ankit Kumar, and the Anti-Romeo Team, arrested the accused during routine checking. On searching him, illegal ganja was recovered.

Police have initiated legal proceedings against the accused under the NDPS Act and stated that he will be produced before the court. Senior police officials confirmed that the campaign against narcotics trafficking will continue with full force.
Lucknow Police have appealed to the general public to immediately inform the police if they come across any illegal activities related to drugs, so that collective efforts can help make society drug-free.
